Our name, "ShiangMi," combines the abbreviations of Hunan and Michigan, symbolizing the unique blend of Eastern and Western culinary traditions that await you at our tables.

With 30 years of experience cooking in the finest restaurants, our executive chef, Jim Wang, is excited to present his vision to you.

Chef Jim is a master of Chinese fusion cuisine, with extensive expertise in blending traditional flavors from various regions. Before joining ShiangMi, he made two visits to the United States as a specialist in Chinese fusion, collaborating with his peers to exchange knowledge and techniques.

Chef Jim's culinary journey began with Cantonese cuisine, where he spent over 12 years honing his skills in some of South China's finest Cantonese restaurants. He later became the executive chef at the Hunan Provincial Guest House, where his interest in Hunan cuisine grew. There, he embarked on innovative research to fuse Hunan, Cantonese, and Sichuan flavors.

In 2020, Chef Jim joined Bi Xiang Ju, a renowned catering company in Hunan, as executive chef in charge of fusion cuisine. Known for his creativity, he excels at utilizing local ingredients to craft innovative dishes that not only delight the taste buds but are also visually stunning.
